No. The girl child must be below 10 years of age at the time of account opening. No exceptions.

How many SSY accounts can a family have?

Maximum 2 — one per girl child. Exception: if the 2nd birth results in twins/triplets, a 3rd account may be allowed.

Where can I open an SSY account?

At any post office or authorized commercial bank (SBI, PNB, ICICI, etc.).

What if I can't deposit the minimum ₹250?
