CTET Certificate on DigiLocker: How to Download

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) certificate is issued by CBSE and is available for download on DigiLocker. Since 2023, CTET certificates have lifetime validity (previously 7 years). This guide explains how to find and download your CTET certificate and mark sheet from DigiLocker.

What is CTET?

CTET is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to certify eligibility for teaching positions in central government schools (KVS, NVS, etc.) and schools under the Union Territory of Delhi. It has two papers:

  • Paper I โ€” For classes 1 to 5 (Primary level)
  • Paper II โ€” For classes 6 to 8 (Upper Primary level)

A candidate must score 60% or above (90 out of 150) to qualify CTET. Qualified candidates receive a CTET certificate.

CTET Certificate Validity โ€” 7 Years to Lifetime

Previous Rule (Before 2023)

CTET certificates were valid for 7 years from the date of issue. Teachers had to re-qualify after expiry.

Current Rule (2023 Onwards)

As per NCTE notification dated February 2023, CTET qualifying certificates now have lifetime validity. This applies to:

  • All CTET certificates issued from the December 2021 cycle onwards
  • Retrospectively to all previously issued CTET certificates (even those that had "expired")

This means: If you qualified CTET in 2014 and your certificate showed validity until 2021, it is now valid for life. You do not need to re-appear.

CTET Mark Sheet vs Certificate โ€” What's the Difference?

Document Purpose
CTET Mark Sheet Shows subject-wise marks obtained in Paper I and/or Paper II. Available for all candidates who appeared (pass or fail).
CTET Qualifying Certificate Issued only to candidates who scored 60% or above. This is the eligibility certificate required for teaching jobs.

For job applications, you need the Qualifying Certificate, not just the mark sheet.

Both documents are available on DigiLocker under the CBSE issuer.

What If Your CTET Certificate Is Not Available on DigiLocker?

If you cannot find your CTET certificate on DigiLocker:

  1. Ensure your DigiLocker is linked to Aadhaar โ€” the details must match your CTET registration
  2. Check the issuer name โ€” search for "CBSE" not "CTET"
  3. Verify your roll number and DOB โ€” these must match exactly with your CTET registration
  4. For older CTET certificates (before 2019): These may not be available on DigiLocker. Contact CBSE directly:
  5. Request CBSE to upload: Write to CBSE requesting digital issuance of your certificate
