The Haryana Ladli scheme is a state government initiative to promote the welfare of the girl child and combat the declining sex ratio. Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance of ā¹5,000 per year for 5 years to families where a second girl child is born. The total benefit accumulates to ā¹25,000 plus interest, which the family can withdraw when the girls turn 18.

The amount is deposited in a Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) in the name of the mother. If the mother is not alive, it is deposited in the father's name.

How to Apply
Application Process
- Visit the nearest Anganwadi Centre after the birth of the second daughter
- Collect the Ladli scheme application form from the Anganwadi worker
- Fill in details of both daughters and parents
- Attach all required documents
- Submit the form through the Anganwadi worker
- The Anganwadi worker forwards it to the CDPO (Child Development Project Officer)
- After verification, the form reaches the District Women & Child Development Office
- Upon approval, the first KVP is purchased in the mother's name
