Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q1: What is the minimum land required?

There is no strict minimum, but having at least 1 acre of rainfed agricultural land is generally expected.

Q2: Can I apply if I already have a borewell?

Yes. Having a borewell does not disqualify you. Farm ponds supplement water availability.

Q3: Do I need to pay anything upfront?

Yes. You may need to invest the farmer's share (10-50% depending on component) upfront. The subsidy is reimbursed after work completion.

Q4: Can tenant farmers apply?

Generally, only land-owning farmers (with RTC in their name) are eligible. Tenant farmers may face difficulties.

Q5: Is this available in all districts of Karnataka?

The scheme primarily targets dry and drought-prone taluks but is available across Karnataka for rainfed areas.

Q6: Can I get both a farm pond and drip irrigation under this scheme?

Yes. You can apply for multiple components, subject to budget availability.
