Ladli Laxmi Yojana 2026 — Apply Online, Check Status & Get ₹1 Lakh Scholarship

Ladli Laxmi Yojana is one of the most successful girl child welfare schemes in India, launched by the Madhya Pradesh government. Under this scheme, National Savings Certificates (NSC) worth ₹1,43,000 are deposited in the name of a girl child, and she receives scholarship amounts at different stages of education — with a final payout of ₹1 lakh at the time of marriage or on turning 21.

Under Ladli Laxmi 2.0, the scheme has been extended to include college education support of up to ₹25,000.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Ladli Laxmi Yojana only for Madhya Pradesh? Yes, the original Ladli Laxmi Yojana is an MP state scheme. Other states have similar schemes: Ladli Scheme (Delhi/Haryana), Bhagyalakshmi (Karnataka), Kanya Shree (West Bengal).

Can twins or multiple girls be registered? Yes — each girl child can be registered separately under the scheme.

What if the girl drops out of school? Future scholarship instalments will stop. However, the NSC deposits already made remain in her name and she will still receive the final ₹1 lakh at age 21.

Is the ₹1 lakh given only on marriage? No — the ₹1 lakh is given when the girl turns 21, regardless of marriage. However, early marriage (before 21) will forfeit the amount. This is intentional — to discourage child marriage.

Can the girl's bank account receive the final payment? Yes — the final ₹1 lakh is transferred directly to the girl's own bank account (not parents'), ensuring she controls the money.
