What is PM Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY)?

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is a maternity benefit programme that provides financial assistance to pregnant women and lactating mothers. The scheme aims to compensate for wage loss during pregnancy and promote safe delivery and nutrition.

Under PMMVY 2.0 (revised version):

Eligibility Criteria

For First Child (₹5,000)

  • All pregnant women and lactating mothers for the first living child

For Second Child (₹6,000)

Benefits and Instalment Schedule (First Child)

Note: Under the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), an additional incentive is provided for institutional delivery, bringing the combined benefit to approximately ₹6,000+.

For Second Girl Child

  • ₹6,000 in a single instalment after birth

How to Apply
