Frequently Asked Questions

What is the 2026 SSC GD Constable vacancy count? Final vacancy count will be announced with the official notification. Previous cycles: 2023 had 26,146 vacancies; 2024–25 had 39,481 vacancies. Expect 40,000–60,000+ in 2026.

Which force is best to choose — CRPF, CISF, or BSF? It depends on your preference. CISF has industrial security postings (airports, PSUs — better quality of life). BSF and CRPF have border/conflict zone postings (higher risk but also higher allowances). SSB is posted along Nepal/Bhutan borders.

Can girls apply for SSC GD Constable? Yes — female candidates can apply for all forces with different physical standards. Female candidates are exempt from application fee.

Is there a bond period after joining SSC GD? No mandatory bond, but there is typically a service commitment period before you can apply for government jobs again. Force-specific rules vary — check with the respective force.
