What is the Tamil Nadu Old Age Pension?
The Tamil Nadu Old Age Pension scheme provides ₹1,000 per month to senior citizens from economically weaker sections. This includes both the state contribution and the central government's share under the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS). The pension is credited directly to the beneficiary's bank/post office account.
Who is Eligible?
- Age: Must be 60 years or above
- Income: Must belong to a BPL family or have income below the prescribed limit
