What is UP Mathrubhumi Yojana?

Uttar Pradesh Mathrubhumi Yojana is a state government initiative that allows Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and other donors to co-fund village infrastructure projects in their ancestral or chosen villages in Uttar Pradesh — and get naming rights on the completed facility in memory of family members.

The Government of UP contributes 40% of the project cost, while the donor contributes 60%.

How to Apply as a Donor

Step 1 — Register on Portal

Go to mathrubhumi.up.gov.in:

• Register as individual / NRI / corporate
• Provide Aadhaar / PAN / passport details

Step 2 — Select Village and Project

• Choose the village (by district, block, gram panchayat)
• Select the type of project you want to fund
• System shows estimated cost (40% GOI + 60% donor)

Step 3 — Payment and Agreement

• Pay your 60% contribution via online banking
• Sign the MoU (agreement) with the government
• Get naming rights confirmation

Step 4 — Project Execution

• The state government (through district administration) executes the project
• Donor can track progress on the portal
• Naming plaque is installed upon completion
