Frequently Asked Questions

1. I am an NRI in the USA. Can I fund a road in my ancestral village in UP?

Yes. This scheme is specifically designed for NRIs. You can register on mathrubhumi.up.gov.in, select your village, and co-fund a project of your choice. Foreign currency payments are processed via authorized banking channels.

2. Can I name the project after my late father?

Yes. Naming rights are a core feature of this scheme. The completed infrastructure (road, health centre, anganwadi, etc.) is named as per your choice โ€” usually on a permanent plaque at the site.

3. Is there a minimum donation amount?

The minimum amount depends on the project selected. A basic hand pump or anganwadi renovation may be available at lower costs. Road projects are typically higher. Check the portal for project-wise costs.

4. Can an Indian company fund projects under this scheme as CSR?

Yes. Corporate contributions under UP Mathrubhumi Yojana qualify for CSR expenditure under Companies Act Section 135.

5. How do I verify the project was actually completed?

The portal at mathrubhumi.up.gov.in provides project-wise photo and status updates. District administration submits completion certificates with geo-tagged photos.
