What is JEE Main 2026?
JEE Main is the national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to BTech, BE, BArch, and BPlanning programmes at NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded institutions. It also serves as the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced, the gateway to IITs.
JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Result
The NTA declared the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 (January session) result on February 16, 2026, at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The result was originally expected on February 12 but was postponed by a few days.
Over 13 lakh candidates appeared for the January session examination.

About NTA Percentile Score
The NTA uses a normalisation process to ensure fairness across different shifts and papers. Raw marks are converted into a standardised NTA percentile score ranging from 0 to 100. A percentile of 90 means you scored better than 90% of all candidates.
Key Changes in Answer Key
- 9 questions were dropped by NTA in the final answer key
- 4 questions had multiple correct answers
- Candidates who attempted dropped questions receive full marks

- Not satisfied? Register for Session 2 (April 2โ9, 2026) before February 25, 2026
- Best of both sessions will be considered for final ranking
- Final cut-off and All India Rank will be declared after Session 2 results
- JEE Advanced 2026 eligibility will be based on the combined percentile
