The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has approved 11,127 Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) vacancies for the 2026โ€“27 recruitment cycle. The vacancy approval was released on 19th February 2026 by the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. The full notification with online application details is expected in March 2026.

  • Educational Qualification: Matriculation (10th pass) with ITI in relevant trade OR Diploma in Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Nationality: Indian citizens

  5. Pay the application fee through online mode
  6. Submit the application and download the confirmation page

Selection Process

The RRB ALP selection process consists of four stages:

  1. CBT 1 (Computer Based Test 1) โ€” Screening test with questions on Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness
  2. CBT 2 (Computer Based Test 2) โ€” Part A (General subjects) and Part B (Trade-specific questions)
  3. CBAT (Computer Based Aptitude Test) โ€” Tests psychological aptitude for loco pilot duties
  4. Document Verification & Medical Examination โ€” Final stage with fitness standards check

CBT 2
