How to Use the Answer Key to Estimate Your Score

UPSC CSE Prelims uses negative marking:

  • +2 marks for each correct answer
  • −0.66 marks for each wrong answer (−1/3 of 2 marks)
  • 0 for unattempted questions

Formula:

Score = (Correct × 2) − (Wrong × 0.667)

Example: 75 correct, 10 wrong, 15 unattempted → (75 × 2) − (10 × 0.667) = 150 − 6.67 = 143.33
