Download APAAR ID from DigiLocker

Quick answer: After APAAR ID is generated, check the student's DigiLocker account under Issued Documents. Search for APAAR, Academic Bank of Credits, or education-related issued documents. If the APAAR card is not visible, first confirm generation status with the school/UDISE+ module or ABC portal before assuming DigiLocker is broken.

Verified on 7 June 2026: The official APAAR portal says generated APAAR ID is pushed into the student's DigiLocker account. The official ABC portal also shows "Access/Download your APAAR Card from the DigiLocker portal" in its learner flow.

Before You Try to Download

Make sure:

  • APAAR ID has actually been generated
  • You are using the student's DigiLocker account
  • Aadhaar/DigiLocker KYC details match student records
  • School or institution has completed verification
  • For college learners, ABC institution/roll number mapping was accepted

If APAAR was only requested but not generated, there may be nothing to download yet.

Step-by-Step: Download APAAR Card

  1. Go to DigiLocker or open the DigiLocker app.
  2. Log in with the student's account.
  3. Open Issued Documents.
  4. Search for APAAR.
  5. If not found, search Academic Bank of Credits.
  6. Open the APAAR card/document if shown.
  7. Use DigiLocker share/download options only where required by school, college, exam or admission portal.

If You Cannot Find APAAR

Try this sequence:

Check What to Do
School student Ask school to check UDISE+ APAAR module
College student Log in to ABC through DigiLocker and check request
Wrong account Use student's own DigiLocker account
Name mismatch Fix Aadhaar/school/institution mismatch
Institution missing Ask academic/exam section
Sync delay Recheck after confirming generation status

Detailed fix: APAAR ID Not Showing in DigiLocker.

Search Terms to Try in DigiLocker

  • APAAR
  • Academic Bank of Credits
  • ABC
  • Ministry of Education
  • Education

The exact issuer/document label can change, so try both APAAR and ABC-related search terms.

School Student Download Flow

For school students, the download depends on school-side generation:

  1. Parent consent submitted voluntarily.
  2. School verifies student details.
  3. UDISE generates APAAR against PEN ID.
  4. APAAR is pushed to DigiLocker.
  5. Student/parent checks Issued Documents.

If the school has not completed steps 2-4, DigiLocker will not show the card.

College / ABC Download Flow

For higher education or skill learners:

  1. Visit abc.gov.in.
  2. Choose Student login/register.
  3. Authenticate through DigiLocker.
  4. Select institution, admission year and roll/enrolment number.
  5. Submit request.
  6. Download/access APAAR card from DigiLocker if matched.

Do Not Share Sensitive Data

When downloading or troubleshooting:

  • Do not share DigiLocker password
  • Do not share OTP
  • Do not upload Aadhaar screenshots to unofficial sites
  • Do not pay agents for "urgent APAAR download"
  • Do not create random duplicate DigiLocker accounts

Use only official APAAR, ABC, DigiLocker, school or institution channels.

What to Keep Ready While Downloading

Keep these details nearby before troubleshooting:

  • Student name as per Aadhaar
  • School/college name
  • PEN ID for school students, if school has shared it
  • Roll number or enrolment number for college students
  • Admission year
  • DigiLocker login mobile number
  • Screenshot of the error or empty search result

Do not send full Aadhaar screenshots, OTP or DigiLocker password to anyone. If a school or college asks for proof, share only what is necessary.

Download vs Share: What Is Safer?

For most official forms, use the official DigiLocker share/download option rather than uploading random screenshots. Screenshots can be rejected because they are not the same as an issued document. If the form asks only for the APAAR number, enter the number exactly as shown on the official card or ABC/DigiLocker record.

If the portal accepts document upload, prefer the PDF or official document view from DigiLocker. Keep a copy for your own records, but do not post it publicly.

When to Contact School or College

Contact the school or institution if:

  • APAAR search returns no result after the school says it was generated
  • Your name or DOB is wrong
  • PEN ID is missing
  • ABC portal cannot find your institution
  • Roll/enrolment number is rejected
  • Your admission form deadline is close

Ask them to confirm whether the issue is generation, mapping, mismatch, or DigiLocker sync.

FAQs

Can I download APAAR ID directly from APAAR website?

The official APAAR portal says the generated APAAR ID is pushed to DigiLocker. Use DigiLocker Issued Documents to access the card.

Why is APAAR not in Issued Documents?

It may not be generated yet, may be linked to a different DigiLocker account, or may have a mismatch in Aadhaar/school/institution records.

Can parents download a minor student's APAAR?

Use the student's DigiLocker/account route and school guidance. Do not use a parent's unrelated DigiLocker account unless the official process specifically supports it.

Is APAAR card required for every form?

Use it when your school, college, exam, admission or scholarship form asks for APAAR/ABC learner ID.

Is a screenshot enough?

Use the official DigiLocker document/download/share option where possible. A screenshot may not be accepted by some portals.
