APAAR ID Not Showing in DigiLocker? Fix Missing APAAR Card

Quick answer: If APAAR ID is not showing in DigiLocker, first confirm whether it was actually generated. For school students, ask the school to check the UDISE+ APAAR module. For college/skill learners, check the ABC/DigiLocker request. Then verify you are using the correct DigiLocker account, name/Aadhaar details match, and the institution record has been mapped.

Verified on 7 June 2026: The official APAAR FAQ says generated APAAR ID is pushed to the student's DigiLocker account and status can also be checked in UDISE+ APAAR module by school authorities.

First: Was APAAR Actually Generated?

Many students search DigiLocker before the ID is generated.

Student Type How to Confirm
School student Ask school authority to check UDISE+ APAAR module
College/university student Log in to ABC through DigiLocker and check request/status
Skill learner Check ABC/DigiLocker request and institution details

If the school or institution says generation is still pending, DigiLocker will not show the APAAR card yet.

Fix 1: Check Issued Documents Correctly

  1. Log in to DigiLocker.
  2. Open Issued Documents.
  3. Search for APAAR.
  4. Also search for Academic Bank of Credits.
  5. Check if the card/document is listed under education-related issued documents.

Do not look only in uploaded documents. APAAR should appear as an issued document when pushed by the system.

Fix 2: Use the Correct DigiLocker Account

APAAR may be pushed to the student's DigiLocker account. If a parent, sibling or different mobile number account is used, the card may not appear.

Check:

  • Is the DigiLocker account linked to the student's Aadhaar?
  • Is the mobile number the same one used in the student/APAAR flow?
  • Is the profile name matching Aadhaar/student records?

Fix 3: Ask School to Check UDISE+ APAAR Module

For school students, the official APAAR FAQ says status can be checked in UDISE+ under the APAAR module. Ask the school:

  • Was parent consent submitted?
  • Was the student verified?
  • Is PEN ID available?
  • Was APAAR generated?
  • Was there a name/Aadhaar mismatch?

Fix 4: Check Name and Aadhaar Match

The official APAAR FAQ says the student name in UDISE+ should match the name as per Aadhaar. A mismatch can block generation or linking.

Examples:

  • School record: "Rahul Kumar Singh"
  • Aadhaar: "Rahul Singh"
  • School record has initials, spelling error or different date of birth

Fix 5: For College Students, Check ABC Institution Mapping

If you created APAAR through ABC/DigiLocker:

  1. Go to abc.gov.in.
  2. Use Student login.
  3. Authenticate through DigiLocker.
  4. Check whether your institution, admission year and roll number were accepted.
  5. If institution/roll number mismatch exists, contact the academic/exam section.

Fix 6: Wait for Sync, But Do Not Wait Blindly

Some documents take time to appear after generation. But if there is no update after a reasonable wait:

  • Ask school/institution whether generation succeeded.
  • Check correct DigiLocker account.
  • Check name/Aadhaar mismatch.
  • Raise support through official APAAR/ABC/DigiLocker help if needed.

What Not to Do

  • Do not pay agents to "generate APAAR faster".
  • Do not share OTP or Aadhaar with unofficial websites.
  • Do not create multiple DigiLocker accounts randomly.
  • Do not select a wrong institution just to complete the form.

What to Ask Support or School

When contacting school, college or official support, include only necessary details:

  • Student name
  • Class/course and institution
  • PEN ID or roll/enrolment number if available
  • Whether parent consent was submitted
  • Whether APAAR was generated or only requested
  • Screenshot of DigiLocker Issued Documents search, without exposing OTP/password

Do not send Aadhaar OTP, DigiLocker password or full screenshots containing sensitive data to unofficial contacts.

FAQs

My school says APAAR generated but DigiLocker does not show it. What now?

Confirm you are using the student's correct DigiLocker account. Then check Issued Documents and ask the school if the APAAR push completed or if there was a mismatch.

Can I check APAAR status myself?

You can check DigiLocker and ABC login where applicable. For school UDISE+ APAAR module status, the official FAQ says students may request school authority to check it.

How long does APAAR take to appear?

The official portal does not promise a fixed public timeline. It depends on consent, verification, generation and sync.

Is missing APAAR a DigiLocker problem?

Not always. It may be a school verification, PEN, Aadhaar mismatch, institution mapping or ABC upload issue.

Should I create a new DigiLocker account?

Usually no. First confirm you are using the correct student account and that Aadhaar/KYC details are correct. Multiple accounts can make troubleshooting harder.
