Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a loan or a grant? Do I need to repay?

This is a grant — no repayment is needed. Unlike MUDRA loans, this ₹2 lakh does not create any debt for you.

My family was surveyed but I couldn't apply. What to do?

Application windows open periodically. Check udyami.bihar.gov.in for open registration dates. Applications are accepted in batches.

My family income is ₹7,000/month. Am I eligible?

No — the income limit is ₹6,000/month (₹72,000/year). If your income is ₹7,000, you are above the threshold.

Can I choose any business? Are there restrictions?

You can choose from the 94 approved business categories. You cannot choose businesses outside this list. However, the list is comprehensive — most micro-enterprise types are included.

After getting the grant, do I need to show business proof?

Yes — the 2nd and 3rd installments are released after utilisation proof and business setup verification by an inspector. Keep receipts for all business-related purchases.

My neighbour got this in 2023 batch. Can my wife also apply in 2024?

One grant per family is the rule. If your neighbour is the family head and received the grant, other family members in the same household cannot apply again.
