What is Indian Coast Guard Recruitment?
The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is a maritime armed force under the Ministry of Defence responsible for coastal security, maritime law enforcement, search and rescue, and marine environment protection. The Coast Guard recruits officers and enrolled personnel (Navik and Yantrik) through periodic recruitment drives.

Assistant Commandant (General Duty)
- Qualification: Bachelor's degree with 60% marks AND Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 level (60%)
- Age: Below 25 years
- Commission: Permanent/Short Service
Assistant Commandant (GD ā Pilot/Navigator)
- Qualification: Bachelor's degree with 60% marks AND Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 (60%)
- Age: Below 25 years (pilot), Below 25 years (navigator)
- Must pass PABT (Pilot Aptitude Battery Test)
Assistant Commandant (Technical ā Mechanical/Electrical)
- Qualification: BE/BTech in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 60%
- Age: Below 30 years
- Duration: Permanent commission
Assistant Commandant (Law)
- Qualification: LLB with 60% marks
- Age: Below 30 years
Assistant Commandant (Commercial Pilot License ā CPL)
- Qualification: CPL holders from DGCA-approved FTO

Navik (General Duty)
- Qualification: 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics (60% aggregate)
- Age: 18-22 years
- Role: Ship operations, navigation, communication
Navik (Domestic Branch)
- Qualification: 10th pass with 50% marks
- Age: 18-22 years
- Role: Catering, housekeeping, stores
Yantrik
- Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 60%
- Age: 18-22 years
- Role: Technical maintenance of ships, aircraft, and equipment
Note: All enrolled personnel entries are now under the Agniveer scheme (4-year engagement, 25% retention).
