Preparation Tips
1. Rajasthan GK is the Game Changer
RPSC gives massive weightage to Rajasthan-specific topics in both Prelims and Mains. Master Rajasthan's history, geography, culture, and economy. Use "Rajasthan" by L.P. Mathur or Rai Publication's Rajasthan GK.
2. No Optional โ Cover All GS Areas
Like MPPSC, RPSC RAS has no optional subject. You need well-rounded preparation across all GS areas.
3. Start with NCERTs
Read NCERT textbooks (Class 6โ12) for History, Geography, Polity, and Economy. This builds a solid foundation.
4. Language Paper is Scoring
Paper 4 (Hindi + English) carries 200 marks and is often neglected. Strong grammar and essay writing skills can boost your total significantly.
5. Practice Answer Writing Regularly
Mains is descriptive. Practice writing structured, concise answers with proper formatting. Write at least 2โ3 answers daily during preparation.
6. Current Affairs with Rajasthan Focus
Read newspapers daily (Rajasthan Patrika, Dainik Bhaskar). Focus on Rajasthan government schemes, state budget, and recent developments.
7. Solve Previous Year RAS Papers
RPSC has a pattern of repeating topics, especially in Rajasthan GK. Solving last 10โ15 years' papers is extremely valuable.
8. Join a Test Series
Regular mock tests for both Prelims and Mains help with time management, revision, and identifying weak areas.
