Preparation Tips

1. No Optional Subject — Master All GS Papers

Unlike UPSC or UPPSC, MPPSC has no optional paper. All papers are GS and Hindi. This means broader preparation but no specialization advantage.

2. Focus on MP-Specific Content

MPPSC gives significant weightage to Madhya Pradesh — its history, geography, culture, economy, tribes, and government schemes. Study MP-specific yearbooks and state portals.

3. Hindi is Crucial

Two papers (General Hindi + Hindi Essay) carry 300 marks combined. Strong Hindi skills can give a significant edge. Practice essay writing, grammar, and comprehension regularly.

4. Read NCERTs as Foundation

Start with NCERT textbooks (Class 6–12) for History, Geography, Polity, Economy, and Science. Then move to advanced reference books.

5. Current Affairs — Regular Reading

Read newspapers daily. Focus on both national events and MP-specific developments. Maintain a monthly current affairs notebook.

6. Practice Answer Writing

Mains is entirely descriptive. Write at least 2–3 practice answers daily. Focus on structured presentation with clear introduction, body, and conclusion.

7. Ethics Paper is Scoring

GS IV (Ethics) carries 200 marks and is considered scoring. Study philosophical thinkers, integrity concepts, and practice case studies.

8. Solve Previous Year Papers

MPPSC papers help understand the exam pattern and important topics. Solve at least 10 years' papers.
