Preparation Tips
1. Master Child Development and Pedagogy
This section carries 30 marks and is common to both papers. Focus on theories of Piaget, Vygotsky, Kohlberg, and Howard Gardner. Understand NCF 2005 and RTE Act 2009.
2. NCERT Books are Your Bible
For content subjects (Math, Science, EVS, Social Studies), study NCERT textbooks of the relevant classes thoroughly. Most questions are based on NCERT content.
3. Focus on Pedagogy in Every Subject
CTET is not just about content knowledge ā each subject section includes 15 marks worth of pedagogy questions. Understand how to teach each subject, not just the subject itself.
4. Practice Previous Year Papers
CTET has been conducted since 2011. Solve at least 10-15 previous year papers to understand question patterns and difficulty levels.
5. Language Sections Need Practice
Don't take language sections lightly. Practice reading comprehension daily and revise grammar rules and pedagogy of language teaching.
6. No Negative Marking ā Attempt All
Since there is no negative marking, attempt every question. Even educated guesses can add marks.
