What is Mukhyamantri Kisan Sahay Yojana?

Mukhyamantri Kisan Sahay Yojana is a crop protection scheme by the Government of Gujarat that provides compensation to farmers for crop losses due to natural calamities like drought, unseasonal rainfall, floods, and other weather events during the Kharif season. Launched in 2020, it replaced the traditional crop insurance (PMFBY) model in Gujarat.

How to Apply — Step-by-Step

Registration on i-Khedut Portal

  1. Visit i-Khedut portal
  2. Select Mukhyamantri Kisan Sahay Yojana
  3. Enter Aadhaar number and land details
  4. Fill crop sowing details for the Kharif season
  5. Submit the registration
  6. Collect registration confirmation

Through Gram Panchayat

  1. Visit the Gram Panchayat or Talati office
  2. Provide Aadhaar, land records, and crop details
  3. Talati registers your details on the portal
  4. Collect acknowledgement

Claim Process (After Crop Loss)

  1. Crop loss is assessed at taluka/district level using satellite imagery, weather data, and field surveys
  2. Revenue department identifies affected areas and declares crop damage percentage
  3. Eligible farmers in declared areas automatically receive compensation
  4. Amount credited directly to bank account via DBT
  5. No separate claim filing needed by individual farmers

Processing Time

  • Crop damage assessment: After the Kharif season (October-December)
  • Compensation disbursement: 2-4 months after assessment
  • Direct credit to bank account

Fees

Zero premium. Unlike crop insurance schemes, farmers pay nothing. The entire cost is borne by the Gujarat government.
