What is Gruha Lakshmi Scheme? (ಗೃಹ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಯೋಜನೆ)
Gruha Lakshmi is a flagship welfare scheme by the Government of Karnataka that provides ₹2,000 per month to the woman head of every household in the state. It is one of the five guarantee schemes introduced by the Karnataka government to support women financially and promote their empowerment.
The amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account (DBT) every month.
Who is Eligible?
To receive benefits under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Woman head of household — the applicant must be a woman recognized as the head of the family
- Karnataka domicile — must be a permanent resident of Karnataka
- Valid ration card — the applicant's name must appear on a BPL (Below Poverty Line) or APL (Above Poverty Line) ration card. You will need a ration card to apply
- One beneficiary per household — only one woman per ration card/household can avail the benefit
- Age — applicant must be 18 years or above
- Not a government employee — women employed in government or semi-government organizations are generally excluded
- Not an income tax payee — households where any member is an income tax assessee may not be eligible

How to Apply Online (Seva Sindhu Portal)
Follow these steps to apply through the official Seva Sindhu portal:
- Visit the portal — Go to sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in or gruhalakshmi.karnataka.gov.in
- Register / Login — Create an account using your mobile number and Aadhaar, or log in if you already have an account
- Select Gruha Lakshmi Scheme — Navigate to the scheme section and select "Gruha Lakshmi Yojane"
- Enter Ration Card Number — Provide your ration card number for auto-verification
- Fill Application Form — Enter personal details, bank account information, and Aadhaar number
- Upload Documents — Upload scanned copies of required documents (ration card, Aadhaar, bank passbook, photo)
- Verify via OTP — An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number for verification

- Visit your nearest Grama One / Bangalore One / Nadakacheri centre or the Taluk office
