How IRCTC e-Catering Works
- Visit ecatering.irctc.co.in or use the IRCTC Rail Connect app
- Enter your PNR number or train number

Fix 1: Station Not Available for Food Delivery
Not all stations support e-Catering delivery:
- e-Catering is available at select major stations with a minimum halt time (usually 2+ minutes)
- Check available stations: Enter your PNR on ecatering.irctc.co.in โ it will show only eligible stations
- If your preferred station isn't listed:
- Check if the next station on the route is available
- The train must have a scheduled halt of 2+ minutes at the station
- Some stations are added/removed seasonally based on vendor availability
- Alternative: Use Zomato or Swiggy station delivery at major junctions, or pre-order from railway pantry car
Fix 2: Order Auto-Cancelled
Your e-Catering order may be auto-cancelled due to:
- Train running late โ if the delay exceeds a threshold, the order is auto-cancelled
- Restaurant closed or unable to fulfill โ the vendor cancelled from their end
- Train rescheduled or cancelled โ route/timing changes trigger auto-cancellation
- PNR cancelled or waitlisted โ if your ticket is cancelled or not confirmed, the food order is cancelled too
What to do:
- Check your email/SMS for the cancellation reason
- If cancelled due to delay: The refund is auto-processed
- If the train is running and you still want food: Place a new order for the next available station
- Contact e-Catering support: 1323 (toll-free) or email ecatering@irctc.co.in
Fix 3: Refund Not Received After Cancellation
If your e-Catering order was cancelled but the refund hasn't come:
- Auto-refund timeline: 5-7 working days to your original payment method
- Check your bank account/UPI app โ refunds may appear as a separate credit
- If not received after 7 working days:
- Call 1323 (e-Catering helpline)
- Email ecatering@irctc.co.in with: Order ID, PNR, payment details, date
- Use the feedback/complaint option on ecatering.irctc.co.in
- Keep your order confirmation email/SMS as reference for the complaint
Fix 4: PNR Not Valid or Not Recognized
- Make sure you're entering the 10-digit PNR number correctly
- e-Catering only works with confirmed or RAC tickets โ waitlisted PNRs may not be accepted
- The PNR must be for a future journey โ past journey PNRs won't work
- If you booked through a third-party app (Paytm, MakeMyTrip), the PNR is still valid on e-Catering

Some trains don't support e-Catering:
- Local/suburban trains โ e-Catering is only for long-distance trains
