What is SEHAT Scheme?
SEHAT (Social, Endeavour for Health And Telemedicine) is a health insurance scheme for the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir that provides ₹5 lakh per family per year for cashless hospitalization. It extends the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme to cover all residents of J&K — making it a universal health coverage scheme.
Launched on 26 December 2020, SEHAT covers approximately 21 lakh families (the entire population of J&K). It is managed by the State Health Agency (SHA), J&K.
Who is Eligible?
- Residency: Must be a resident of Jammu & Kashmir
- Universal Coverage: All families in J&K are eligible — no income restriction
- Ration Card: Must have a J&K ration card or be in the family database
- Exclusions: Government employees covered under CGHS/ECHS are excluded

- Carry Aadhaar Card and Ration Card
