What is the Karunya Benevolent Fund?
The Karunya Benevolent Fund (KBF) is a medical assistance scheme by the Government of Kerala that provides financial aid to BPL (Below Poverty Line) families for the treatment of serious and life-threatening diseases. Funded through a portion of Kerala State Lottery revenue, the scheme ensures that poor families are not denied critical medical treatment due to financial constraints.

Step-by-Step Application Process
Online Application
- Visit the Karunya portal at karunya.kerala.gov.in
- Register with mobile number and patient details
- Fill the application form — patient details, disease, hospital, estimated cost
- Upload medical certificates, treatment estimate, income proof, and Aadhaar
- Submit and note the application reference number
- Track status online using the reference number
Offline Application
- Collect the Karunya Benevolent Fund application form from:
