What is Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana?

Majhi Ladki Bahin (My Dear Sister) Yojana is a welfare scheme launched by the Maharashtra government to provide ₹1,500 per month (₹18,000 per year) to eligible women in the state. The scheme aims to empower women economically, improve their quality of life, and promote financial independence.

Is there a separate scheme for widows in Maharashtra?

Maharashtra has the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Anudan Yojana for widows, destitute, and disabled persons. Widows can apply for Ladki Bahin as well if eligible.

Can I receive both Ladki Bahin and Shravan Bal pension?

If you're receiving less than ₹1,500 from Shravan Bal or other pensions, you may receive the difference under Ladki Bahin. If already receiving ₹1,500+, you cannot avail both.

What if I don't have a ration card?

A ration card is a key eligibility document. Apply for one at your local Tahsildar office or through the Maharashtra PDS portal before applying for Ladki Bahin.

Will the amount increase in the future?

The government may revise the amount based on budget and policy decisions. The scheme started at ₹1,500 and may increase in future announcements.
