What is Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana?

Majhi Ladki Bahin (My Dear Sister) Yojana is a welfare scheme launched by the Maharashtra government to provide ₹1,500 per month (₹18,000 per year) to eligible women in the state. The scheme aims to empower women economically, improve their quality of life, and promote financial independence.

It is Maharashtra's response to similar women-focused welfare schemes in other states and has been designed to cover a wide section of women across the state.

Who is Eligible?

• Women aged 21 to 65 years

How to Apply

Online Application

1. Visit ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in
2. Click on "New Registration"
3. Enter your Aadhaar number and verify through OTP
4. Fill in personal details — name, date of birth, address, marital status
5. Enter ration card number and bank account details
6. Upload photograph and documents
7. Submit and save the application reference number

Offline Application

1. Visit your nearest Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra or Gram Panchayat / Ward office
2. Collect the Ladki Bahin application form
3. Fill in all details with supporting documents
4. Submit at the designated counter
5. Collect acknowledgment receipt

• Government-appointed volunteers assist with door-to-door applications
• They help fill forms and upload documents

Yes, all women aged 21-65 meeting the income and residency criteria are eligible regardless of marital status.

Is there a separate scheme for widows in Maharashtra?

Maharashtra has the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Anudan Yojana for widows, destitute, and disabled persons. Widows can apply for Ladki Bahin as well if eligible.

Can I receive both Ladki Bahin and Shravan Bal pension?

If you're receiving less than ₹1,500 from Shravan Bal or other pensions, you may receive the difference under Ladki Bahin. If already receiving ₹1,500+, you cannot avail both.

What if I don't have a ration card?

A ration card is a key eligibility document. Apply for one at your local Tahsildar office or through the Maharashtra PDS portal before applying for Ladki Bahin.

Will the amount increase in the future?

The government may revise the amount based on budget and policy decisions. The scheme started at ₹1,500 and may increase in future announcements.
