  • Equal contribution from worker and government
  • Monthly contribution: ₹55 to ₹200 (depending on age at enrollment)

Frequently Asked Questions

I am a domestic worker. How do I prove my income is below ₹15,000?

Self-declaration is accepted — no income certificate is required. You simply state your occupation and approximate monthly income at the CSC.

I am 42. Can I still enroll?

No — maximum entry age is 40 years. Enroll before you turn 40 to be eligible.

Can I miss a monthly contribution?

If you miss, the auto-debit will fail. Your subscription gets suspended. To reactivate, pay the missed months' contributions + 8% simple interest. Visit your CSC to reactivate.

What if my bank account closes?

Your pension payments will fail. Update your bank account details at the CSC or at maandhan.in immediately if you change bank accounts.

I also work as a farmer. Can I have both PM-KMY and PM-SYM?

No — you can enroll in only one scheme. Choose PM-KMY if your primary occupation is farming (land up to 2 hectares), or PM-SYM if you are primarily an unorganized non-farm worker.

Will the ₹3,000 pension increase in the future?

The scheme design provides ₹3,000/month. The government may revise amounts over time, but there is no automatic inflation indexing.
