What is Railway Concession for Senior Citizens?
Indian Railways offers concessional fares to senior citizens travelling across India. Women aged 58 years and above, and men aged 60 years and above, are eligible for discounted train tickets. This concession applies across most classes and can be availed during both online and counter booking.

- While entering passenger details, enter the correct date of birth
- If eligible, the system will automatically show a checkbox: "Opt for Senior Citizen Concession"
- Tick the checkbox to avail the discount
- The discounted fare will be reflected in the fare summary
- Complete payment and download the e-ticket
- Carry a valid photo ID during the journey
Offline Booking (Railway Counter)
- Visit the nearest railway reservation counter
- Fill out the reservation form with correct date of birth
- Submit the form along with a photocopy of age proof
- The booking clerk will apply the senior citizen concession
