What is UAN?

The Universal Account Number (UAN) is a 12-digit unique number assigned to every EPF member by EPFO. It acts as an umbrella ID that links all your PF Member IDs (from different employers) under one account. Your UAN remains the same throughout your career, even when you change jobs.

Who Gets a UAN?

  • All employees covered under the EPF & MP Act, 1952
  • Employees in establishments with 20 or more workers
  • Your employer assigns the UAN when they register you with EPFO
  • You can find your UAN on your salary slip or by asking your HR department

How to Find Your UAN

If you don't know your UAN:

  1. Check your salary slip โ€” UAN is usually printed on it
  2. Ask your HR department โ€” They have your UAN from the EPFO employer portal
  3. Use EPFO portal โ€” Visit unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in โ†’ Click "Know Your UAN" โ†’ Enter your PF Member ID, name, date of birth, and mobile number
