Preparation Tips

1. Start with Mathematics

Maths carries 300 out of 900 marks and is the most scoring subject if prepared well. Focus on:

  • NCERT textbooks (Class 11 and 12)
  • Previous years' NDA maths papers
  • Regular practice of problem-solving

2. Read NCERT Books Thoroughly

For General Knowledge, NCERT books from Class 6 to 12 for History, Geography, Science, and Polity form the foundation.

3. Improve English Skills

Read English newspapers and novels. Practice comprehension passages and grammar exercises. English carries 200 marks and is often underestimated.

4. Follow Current Affairs

Read a daily newspaper (The Hindu or Indian Express) and a monthly current affairs magazine. Focus on:

  • Defence-related news
  • Government policies
  • International relations
  • Science and technology developments

5. Solve Previous Years' Papers

NDA papers from the last 10–15 years reveal the pattern clearly. Solve them under timed conditions.

6. Take Mock Tests

Regular mock tests help with time management and identifying weak areas. Aim for at least one full-length mock per week in the last 2 months.

7. Physical Fitness

Start a fitness routine early — running, push-ups, sit-ups, and sports. SSB tests physical fitness and it takes months to build.
