What is e-Aadhaar?
e-Aadhaar is the electronic/digital version of your Aadhaar card issued by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India). It is a password-protected PDF document that is legally valid and equivalent to the physical Aadhaar card. You can download it anytime from the official UIDAI portal.

Important: e-Aadhaar is equally valid as the original Aadhaar card for all purposes ā bank KYC, government schemes, mobile SIM purchase, and more.

- Aadhaar holders who know their Enrolment ID (EID)

- Both Indian residents and NRIs with Aadhaar
Note: If your mobile number is not registered with Aadhaar, you cannot download e-Aadhaar online. Visit an Aadhaar enrolment centre to update your mobile number first. Also see our guide on updating mobile number in Aadhaar.
