The Agnipath scheme, launched by the Government of India in June 2022, is the new recruitment pathway for soldiers in the Indian Army. Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Minimum: 17.5 years
- Maximum: 23 years (as on the date specified in notification)
For initial batches, upper age was relaxed to 23 years (from the original 21 years).

Selection Process
The Agniveer Army selection follows these stages:
Stage 1: Online Registration
Register on the official website joinindianarmy.nic.in and apply for the relevant rally/recruitment.
Stage 2: Rally Reporting / Admit Card
Candidates report to the designated rally venue with admit card and original documents.
Stage 3: Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Stage 4: Physical Measurement

Stage 5: Medical Examination

1. Start Physical Training Early
Begin running, pull-ups, and endurance training at least 3-4 months before the rally. Consistency is key.
2. Focus on Running
The 1.6 km run carries the most marks (60 out of 100 in PFT). Aim to complete it under 5 minutes 30 seconds.
3. Study NCERT Books for CEE
For the written exam, NCERT textbooks of Class 10 (GD) or Class 12 (Technical/Clerk) are sufficient.
4. Practice General Knowledge
Current affairs, Indian history, geography, and defence-related knowledge are important for CEE.
5. Keep Documents Ready
Aadhaar card, education certificates, domicile certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), NCC certificate, sports certificates ā keep originals and photocopies ready.
6. Medical Preparation
