What is Bihar Krishi Input Anudan?
Bihar Krishi Input Anudan (Agricultural Input Grant) is a state government scheme that provides direct cash compensation to farmers in Bihar whose crops are damaged by floods, excess rains, or drought (crop loss ≥33%). The scheme is implemented through the DBT Agriculture Bihar portal and payments are made directly to the farmer's bank account.
Key Benefits
| Crop Type / Damage Condition | Rate per Hectare |
|---|---|
| Irrigated agricultural land (crop loss ≥33%) | ₹13,500/ha |
| Unirrigated (rainfed) agricultural land | ₹6,800/ha |
| Perennial crops (orchards, plantations) | ₹18,000/ha |
| Max area covered per farmer | Up to 2 hectares |
Maximum total benefit: 2 ha × ₹13,500 = ₹27,000 (for irrigated land with total crop loss)

Frequently Asked Questions
1. My crops were damaged by floods but my block is not in the notified list. What can I do?
The compensation is only for officially notified blocks. If your block is not notified, you cannot apply for Krishi Input Anudan. You can raise a representation to the DM/District Agriculture Officer requesting block-level assessment.
2. I am a tenant farmer. Can I apply?
Yes, tenant farmers (sharecroppers/bataidars) can apply, but they must have valid land records showing tenancy or a declaration from the land owner. The limit is up to 2 hectares of cultivated area.
3. I have 4 hectares of land. Do I get compensation for all 4 hectares?
No. The maximum compensable area is 2 hectares per farmer.
4. Can I apply for both PMFBY (crop insurance) and Krishi Input Anudan for the same crop loss?
Generally, you should not receive double compensation for the same loss. If you have a crop insurance claim under PMFBY, check with your BAO about whether Krishi Input Anudan is also applicable — some cases allow both.
5. I don't have a smartphone. How do I apply?
Visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC/Jan Seva Kendra) or Block Agriculture Office. The VLE at CSC can apply on your behalf on the DBT Agriculture portal.
