Update 1: Change Mobile Number on e-Shram

Online Method

  1. Visit register.eshram.gov.in
  2. Click "Already Registered"
  3. Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha
  4. Click "Send OTP" — OTP goes to your Aadhaar-linked mobile (not old e-Shram mobile)
  5. Enter OTP and log in
  6. Click "Update Profile" on your dashboard
  7. Change your mobile number in the mobile field
  8. An OTP will be sent to your new mobile number for verification
  9. Enter the new OTP and submit
  10. Download updated e-Shram card

Important: You need access to your Aadhaar-linked mobile to log in. If you've lost that number too, first update mobile on Aadhaar at an enrollment centre.

At CSC Centre

  1. Visit nearest CSC with Aadhaar card and new mobile phone
  2. Request e-Shram mobile number update
  3. Verify with Aadhaar OTP + new mobile OTP
  4. Fee: ₹20-30

Update 2: Correct Name on e-Shram

Your name on e-Shram is pulled directly from Aadhaar. You cannot edit it independently on the e-Shram portal.

Steps to fix:

  1. Update name on Aadhaar first:

    • Visit myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
    • Click "Update Aadhaar" → select "Name"
    • Upload supporting document (PAN, passport, voter ID, etc.)
    • Pay ₹50 fee
    • Takes 7-15 working days
  2. After Aadhaar name is updated:

    • Log in to register.eshram.gov.in
    • Your updated name from Aadhaar will reflect automatically
    • Download fresh e-Shram card with corrected name

Update 3: Change Address on e-Shram

Like name, your address comes from Aadhaar.

Steps:

  1. Update address on Aadhaar:

  2. After Aadhaar update reflects (7-15 days):

    • Log in to e-Shram portal
    • Download updated card — new address will show

Update 4: Change Bank Account Details

Bank details can be updated directly on the e-Shram portal. This is important for receiving scheme benefits via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Steps:

  1. Visit register.eshram.gov.in
  2. Click "Already Registered" → log in with Aadhaar + OTP
  3. Go to "Update Profile"
  4. Edit Bank Account Number and IFSC Code
  5. Ensure the account is:
    • In your name (matching Aadhaar name)
    • A savings account
    • Active and linked to Aadhaar (for DBT)
  6. Submit and verify
  7. Download updated e-Shram card

Tip: Link your bank account to Aadhaar via your bank for seamless DBT. Most banks offer this through net banking or by visiting a branch.

Update 5: Change Occupation or Nominee

These can also be updated directly:

  1. Log in at register.eshram.gov.in
  2. Go to "Update Profile"
  3. Edit occupation category, sub-category, or nominee details
  4. Submit changes
  5. Download updated card

Troubleshooting Update Errors

"Unable to Update" Error

  • Clear browser cache and try again
  • Use Chrome or Firefox
  • Try during off-peak hours

OTP Not Received for Login

  • The login OTP goes to your Aadhaar-linked mobile, not the e-Shram mobile
  • If you don't have access to Aadhaar-linked mobile, update it at an Aadhaar centre first

Changes Not Reflecting on Card

  • Wait 24 hours after updating
  • Log out and log in again
  • Download a fresh copy of the card

Important Tips

  • Always download a new card after making any updates
  • Bank account must match Aadhaar name for DBT benefits
  • Keep your Aadhaar updated — e-Shram depends on Aadhaar data for name, address, and photo
  • Free service — don't pay anyone for online updates (CSC may charge ₹20-30)
  • Save your UAN — you'll need it for all future interactions
