MA Amrutam Yojana (MAA) and MA Vatsalya Yojana are health insurance schemes by the Government of Gujarat that provide cashless medical treatment at empanelled hospitals for families below the poverty line and lower-middle-class families.

  • MA Amrutam: For BPL families (annual income up to ₹1.20 lakh in rural / ₹1.50 lakh in urban)
  • MA Vatsalya: For families with annual income up to ₹4 lakh (middle class coverage)

Both schemes now operate in convergence with Ayushman Bharat – PMJAY, providing coverage up to ₹5 lakh per family per year.

Who is Eligible?

MA Amrutam (BPL)

MA Vatsalya (Middle Class)

  • Families with annual income up to ₹4 lakh

  • No premium for AB-PMJAY eligible families

Getting the MA Card

  1. Visit the nearest MA card distribution centre, Taluka Health Office, or empanelled hospital
  2. Carry ration card, Aadhaar, and income certificate
  3. Biometric registration — fingerprints and photo captured
  4. MA Card issued on the spot or within a few days
  5. Card covers up to 5 family members

Availing Treatment

  1. Visit any empanelled hospital (government or private)
  2. Show MA Card and Aadhaar at the reception / Arogya Mitra desk
  3. Biometric verification of identity
  4. Pre-authorization — hospital sends request to insurance/TPA
  5. Cashless treatment — no payment required for covered procedures
  6. Post-discharge — follow-up covered for 15 days
