Frequently Asked Questions

1. I got admission in a private engineering college in Ranchi. Does Guruji Credit Card cover it?

Yes, provided the college is an accredited institution (AICTE-approved). Confirm accreditation status with JSEFC before applying.

2. Do I need to provide a guarantor for the loan?

For loans up to ₹7.5 lakh, no collateral or guarantor is typically required. Above ₹7.5 lakh, the institution may ask for a co-applicant/guarantor.

3. My family income is ₹4 lakh but we are very poor. Can I still apply?

The income limit may vary — check current norms at jsefc.jharkhand.gov.in. If slightly above the limit, some flexibility may be available for very poor families on case-by-case basis.

4. I am studying outside Jharkhand (in Delhi). Am I eligible?

Yes. The scheme covers students studying at accredited institutions anywhere in India — not just within Jharkhand. You must be a Jharkhand domicile.

5. I completed my course 1 year ago and haven't started repayment. What happens?

Interest accrues during the moratorium period (course + 6 months). After the moratorium ends, EMI begins automatically. If you haven't started repayment, contact JSEFC to regularize your account and avoid penalty.
