What is Maiya Samman Yojana?

Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana is the Jharkhand government's flagship scheme that provides ₹2,500 per month to eligible women aged 18 to 50 years, with payments made directly to bank accounts via DBT. This is one of the highest monthly amounts among all women allowance schemes in India.

The scheme was launched in August 2024 and covers over 50 lakh women in Jharkhand. New applicants also receive 3 months' arrears (₹7,500) upon joining.

Who is Eligible?

• Women aged 18 to 50 years
• Must be a Jharkhand resident with domicile/voter ID in Jharkhand
• Annual family income must be below ₹3 lakh
• Must not be a government employee (state or central) or drawing a government pension
• Must not be an income taxpayer

How to Apply

1. Go to maiyasamman.jharkhand.gov.in
2. Click "Apply Now" or "New Registration"
3. Enter your Aadhaar number → verify with OTP
4. Fill in family details, address, income declaration
5. Enter bank account details (in your own name)
6. Upload required documents
7. Submit and note application number

At government camps / panchayat:

• The scheme was also registered through Jharkhand government camps
• Visit your local gram panchayat or block office with documents for help

1. Aadhaar card (mobile-linked for OTP)
2. Jharkhand voter ID / domicile certificate
3. Bank account passbook (in the woman's own name — Aadhaar-linked)
4. Income certificate (if required — from Block Development Officer)
5. Family ration card

Check Status and Payment

1. Go to maiyasamman.jharkhand.gov.in
2. Click "Check Application Status"
3. Enter your Aadhaar / application number
4. View: submitted → verified → approved → payment released

Check your bank account on the payment date (usually 1st-5th of each month) for the ₹2,500 credit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can widows and divorced women apply?

Yes — all women aged 18–50 are eligible regardless of marital status. Widows and separated women are explicitly included.

My husband is a private company employee. Am I eligible?

Yes — private sector employees' families are eligible as long as the annual family income is below ₹3 lakh.

I already receive a pension. Can I still apply?

If you receive a government pension (state or central), you are not eligible. Private/EPFO pensions from private sector employment do not disqualify you.

What if my age is above 50?

Women above 50 years are not eligible under Maiya Samman Yojana. However, they may qualify for old age pension schemes in Jharkhand (Mukhyamantri Vriddha Pension Yojana for 60+ years).

How long does approval take after application?

Typically 2–4 weeks after verification by the block/district office. The first payment includes arrears from the date of approval.
