What is Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana?
Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana is a Jharkhand government scheme that provides financial assistance in installments to girls from Class 8 to 18 years of age to encourage them to continue their education and prevent child marriage. The scheme was merged from two earlier schemes (Sukanya and Kishori Shakti) and targets girls from SECC-2011 listed and Antyodaya card families.
Key Benefits
| Class / Stage | Amount |
|---|---|
| Class 8 | ₹2,500 |
| Class 9 | ₹2,500 |
| Class 10 | ₹5,000 |
| Class 11 | ₹5,000 |
| Class 12 | ₹5,000 |
| On turning 18 (not married) | ₹20,000 lump sum |
| Total benefit | ₹40,000 |
The ₹20,000 at 18 is given only if the girl is not married before 18 — it incentivizes avoiding child marriage.
Who is Eligible?
The girl is eligible if:
- She is studying in Class 8 or above in a government school
- Her family is listed in SECC-2011 database OR has an Antyodaya ration card
- She is a permanent resident of Jharkhand
- She is not married before 18 years (for the ₹20,000 incentive)
SECC-2011 criteria — this restricts the scheme to the most economically vulnerable families. Many families may not be in SECC-2011 even if poor — check with your local ICDS office.
Documents Required
- Aadhaar Card — girl's
- SECC-2011 enrollment proof OR Antyodaya ration card
- School enrollment / marksheet — current class
- Domicile certificate — Jharkhand residency
- Bank passbook — in the girl's name (Aadhaar-linked)
- Date of birth proof — birth certificate or Aadhaar
- Self-declaration of unmarried status — for the ₹20,000 incentive

Step 4 — Installments Credited

Frequently Asked Questions
1. My daughter is in Class 10 in a private school. Is she eligible?
No. The scheme is for government school students only. Private school students are not eligible.
2. My family is not in SECC-2011 and we don't have an Antyodaya card. Can we apply?
Unfortunately, the scheme strictly requires SECC-2011 listing or Antyodaya card. If your family meets the income criteria but is not listed, contact your Block Development Officer to check if you can be included.
3. My daughter got married at 16. Will she get the ₹20,000 at 18?
No. The ₹20,000 incentive is specifically for girls who remain unmarried until age 18. Early marriage disqualifies the final installment.
4. I want to check if my family is in SECC-2011. How?
Visit the SECC-2011 database (available at your Block office or CDPO office). Or ask the Anganwadi worker — they have lists for their area.
5. My daughter received installments for Class 8 and 9 but the payment stopped in Class 10. Why?
Check with your Block CDPO. Common issues: school transfer not updated, bank account Aadhaar link broken. Visit the CDPO with school certificate and bank passbook.
