Frequently Asked Questions
1. My child has 60% disability. Can she get the pension at age 12?
Minimum age for pension application is 18 years. However, Kerala has a separate scholarship and benefit scheme for disabled children through the Social Security Mission. Contact the District Social Justice Office for children's specific benefits.
2. I have a hearing impairment but my certificate shows 35%. Am I eligible?
No. The minimum threshold is 40% disability. If you believe your disability assessment undervalued your impairment, request a review from the District Medical Board.
3. I already get ₹500/month from IGNDPS (Central scheme). Will I get ₹1,600 from Kerala on top?
Kerala typically integrates IGNDPS with the state pension to give a total of ₹1,600/month. You won't get both separately — the higher amount is what you receive.
4. Can I apply online or only in person?
Both online (sevasadhya.kerala.gov.in) and offline (Village Office) applications are accepted.
5. My pension was stopped without notice. Why?
Common reasons: Aadhaar-bank link broken, periodic renewal required, or re-verification. Visit the nearest Village Office or Akshaya Centre to check and resolve.
