What is Snehapoorvam?
Snehapoorvam (With Affection) is a Kerala government scheme providing a monthly educational stipend to orphan children and children from families with a single parent (one parent deceased). The scheme ensures that the death of a parent does not prevent a child from continuing education.
Who is Eligible?
- Children who have lost one or both parents
- Must be a student currently enrolled in a recognized school or college
- Age: Must be studying (typically up to undergraduate level)
- Residency: Must be a resident of Kerala
- Income: Guardian/family income must be below ā¹1 lakh per annum

How to Apply
Online Application
- Visit welfarepension.lsgkerala.gov.in
- Click on "New Application" ā Select "Snehapoorvam"
- Enter child's details ā name, age, school/college, class
- Enter guardian's details and income
- Upload death certificate, school bonafide, income certificate
- Enter bank account details
- Submit and note the application number
Offline Application
- Visit the local Grama Panchayat, Municipality, or Corporation office
- Collect the Snehapoorvam application form
- Fill in all details
- Attach copies of required documents
- Submit to the ICDS/Social Welfare officer or Panchayat Secretary
- Collect acknowledgment
Verification & Disbursement
- The local body verifies the child's status, school enrollment, and guardian's income
- Ward-level committee recommends the application
- Panchayat/Municipality approves
- Stipend is credited monthly to the bank account
