Frequently Asked Questions

We are not BPL. Can we still apply?

The scheme primarily targets BPL and economically weak families. Non-BPL families may not qualify unless they meet specific criteria (destitute/orphan status). Check with your local Gram Panchayat.

Our family prefers a private wedding. Can we still get the benefit?

Yes — individual applications can be submitted online. However, the government prefers Samuhik Vivah as it ensures proper verification. Individual applications are also processed but may take longer.

Can we register a marriage that already happened?

The scheme is for upcoming/recent marriages. Applications for marriages that happened more than 3 months ago may not be accepted. Apply before or immediately after the marriage.

The bride is a widow. Can she apply?

Widows remarrying may be eligible under the Punarvivah (remarriage) provision. Check with the district Social Justice office for current eligibility norms for widows.

We received goods worth ₹43,000 but they seem of lower quality. What can we do?

Goods are procured by the district administration. If you believe the quality or value is significantly below the declared ₹43,000, file a complaint with the Collector's office or the district Social Justice officer.
