Frequently Asked Questions

My daughter was born in a private hospital. Is she eligible?

Only if the private hospital is accredited (empanelled) under the Janani Suraksha Yojana or PM Matru Vandana Yojana scheme. Most small private hospitals or nursing homes may not be accredited — verify with your district hospital before delivery.

Can I apply if I missed the first installment?

If the 1st installment was not processed at the hospital, you can approach the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) or the District Women and Child Development Officer with documents to apply for missed installments.

What if my daughter is studying in a private school?

Installments 3 through 6 are only given for girls studying in government schools. If the girl is in a private school, the installments for those stages are not paid. Installments 1 and 2 (birth and 1-year) are not affected by school type.

Is the third girl child eligible?

No — only the first two girl children in a family are eligible. The third and subsequent girl children are not covered.

What is Bhamashah / Jan Aadhaar card?

Bhamashah was replaced by Jan Aadhaar card in 2019–20. Jan Aadhaar is Rajasthan's family identity card that serves as the basis for DBT (direct benefit transfer). Apply for Jan Aadhaar at janaadhaar.rajasthan.gov.in or any CSC/e-Mitra center.

My daughter is in Class 1 now but the school has not applied for the installment. What should I do?

Speak to the school principal. The school is supposed to submit the Rajshri installment claim through the Shala Darpan portal. If the school is unaware or not doing it, escalate to the Block Education Officer (BEO) or District Education Officer (DEO).
