Frequently Asked Questions

1. I returned from Delhi to my village in Uttarakhand during COVID. Am I eligible?

Yes. Return migrants are a priority category under MSY. Provide Aadhaar with Uttarakhand address, domicile certificate, and proof of return. DIC will process your application on priority.

2. Can I use the loan to open a dhaba (food stall) on a highway?

Yes. A food service business (dhaba, restaurant, snacks stall) qualifies under the services sector. You will need the business location detail (rent agreement or owned premises) in the project report.

3. I am 48 years old and a widow. Am I eligible?

Yes. The age limit is relaxed to 50 years for widows. Apply with your Aadhaar, domicile, and widow certificate. You may also get additional relaxation in collateral requirements.

4. What if the bank rejects my loan application?

If a bank rejects, approach the DIC — they can recommend another empanelled bank or help re-present the case. You can also appeal to the District Magistrate.

5. Is the 25% subsidy a grant or is it also repaid?

The 25% subsidy is a government grant — it is credited to your loan account and reduces your loan outstanding. You only repay the remaining 75%.
