What is PM Kisan?
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a central government scheme that provides ā¹6,000 per year in three equal installments of ā¹2,000 to eligible farmer families. The amount is directly transferred to the beneficiary's bank account.

Common Reasons for Non-Payment
- Aadhaar-bank account mismatch ā Name in Aadhaar doesn't match bank records
- eKYC not completed ā Mandatory Aadhaar-based eKYC is pending
- Aadhaar not linked to bank account ā DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) requires Aadhaar-linked bank account
- Land record verification failed ā State government hasn't verified your land records
- Bank account invalid or closed ā Account is inactive, frozen, or closed
- Duplicate registration ā Multiple registrations with different details
- Ineligible category ā Income tax payers, government employees, and institutional landholders are excluded
Step 1: Check Your Beneficiary Status
- Visit pmkisan.gov.in
- Click on "Beneficiary Status" or go directly to pmkisan.gov.in/BeneficiaryStatus.aspx
- Enter your Aadhaar number or mobile number or account number
- Click "Get Data"
- Check your status:
- Registered: Your application is in the system
- Pending for approval at State/District level: Land verification is pending
- Rejected: Your application has been rejected (reason will be shown)
- FTO is generated: Payment is being processed
- Rft Signed by State: Payment is approved and will be credited soon
Step 2: Fix Aadhaar-Bank Account Mismatch
This is the most common reason for failed payments.
- Check if your name in Aadhaar matches your bank account name exactly
- If there's a mismatch:
- Visit your bank branch and update your name to match Aadhaar, OR
- Update your Aadhaar name at an Aadhaar Enrollment Centre to match bank records
- Link Aadhaar to your bank account (if not already done):
- Visit your bank branch with Aadhaar card
- Fill the Aadhaar seeding form
- The bank will link your Aadhaar to your account for DBT
- Verify linking at resident.uidai.gov.in
Step 3: Complete eKYC
eKYC is mandatory for receiving PM Kisan payments.
Online (OTP-based):
- Visit pmkisan.gov.in
- Click on "eKYC" option on the homepage
- Enter your Aadhaar number and registered mobile number
- Click "Get OTP" and enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile
- eKYC will be completed instantly
Offline (at CSC):
- Visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC)
- Carry your Aadhaar card and registered mobile
- The CSC operator will complete biometric or OTP-based eKYC
- You'll receive confirmation on your mobile

Step 4: Fix Land Record Issues
If your status shows "Pending for approval at State/District level":
- Contact your local Patwari or Lekhpal (revenue officer) to verify your land records
- Ensure your land records are updated in the state land portal
- If you have recently purchased land, ensure the mutation (name transfer) is complete
- Contact your District Agriculture Officer for status updates
- Some states allow online tracking ā check your state's land records portal
Step 5: Fix Bank Account Issues
- Ensure your bank account is active ā deposit a small amount or visit the branch
- Check IFSC code ā if your branch has merged, the IFSC may have changed
- Update bank details on PM Kisan portal:
- Visit pmkisan.gov.in
- Use the "Updation of Self Registered Farmer" option
- Update your bank account number and IFSC code

Processing Time
