Frequently Asked Questions

How often does Railway recruitment happen?

Major railway recruitments (NTPC, Group D, ALP) happen every 2-3 years. RPF recruitment is less frequent. Check the official RRB websites regularly for notifications.

Can I apply for both NTPC and Group D simultaneously?

Yes, if both notifications are open at the same time and you meet the eligibility for both, you can apply separately for each.

Is ITI mandatory for Group D posts?

For most Group D posts, 10th pass + ITI is required. However, some posts accept 10th pass with NAC (National Apprenticeship Certificate) or equivalent.

What is the medical standard for railway jobs?

Railway jobs have strict medical standards, especially for safety-related posts. ALP requires Aye-One vision (distance vision 6/6 without glasses). Group D requires Aye-Three. RPF has additional physical standards.
