My father doesn't have a bank account. How to open one?

Open a Jan Dhan Account at any nationalised bank — zero balance, free, and Aadhaar can be used for KYC. Get it linked to Aadhaar for DBT before applying for pension.

Yes — PMKISAN (farm income support) and Vridha Pension are completely separate schemes. Both can be received simultaneously.

Yes — most states require income certificates issued within the last 1 year. Get a fresh certificate from the Tehsildar office.

I live in a UP city (not village). Where do I apply?

Urban residents apply at the Nagar Panchayat / Nagar Palika / Municipal Corporation Social Welfare office or through the same sspy-up.gov.in online portal.

The Gram Pradhan says my application was submitted but there is no status online. What to do?

Ask the Gram Panchayat secretary for the online submission receipt or application ID. If they cannot provide it, apply directly online at sspy-up.gov.in.
