What are Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak?
Telangana government runs two parallel marriage grant schemes:
- Kalyana Lakshmi — for brides from SC, ST, BC, and Economically Backward communities
- Shaadi Mubarak — for brides from minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Zoroastrian)
Both schemes give the same amount: ₹1,00,116 (one lakh one hundred and sixteen rupees) per marriage — one of the highest marriage grants in India.

Who is Eligible?
For Kalyana Lakshmi (bride's requirements):
- She is from SC, ST, BC, or EBC community
- Her family annual income is below ₹2 lakh (SC/ST) or below ₹2 lakh (BC/EBC)
- She is a Telangana resident with valid domicile
- She is 18 years or older on the date of marriage
- It is her first marriage
For Shaadi Mubarak:
- She is from a minority community (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, etc.)
- Same income and age criteria as above
- First marriage

How to Apply — Step by Step
Applications can be submitted before the marriage (14 days in advance) or within 6 months after marriage.
Step 1 — Apply Online
Go to telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in:
- Click on Kalyana Lakshmi / Shaadi Mubarak
- Register with bride's Aadhaar
- Fill personal, family, and marriage details
- Upload all documents
- Submit and note Application ID
Step 2 — Meeseva / CSC Application (Alternative)
Visit your nearest Meeseva centre for assisted application.
Step 3 — Revenue Officer Verification
The Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) or Tehsildar verifies:
- Caste/community certificate
- Income certificate
- Age (bride ≥ 18 years)
- Residency
Step 4 — Approval and Payment
After approval, ₹1,00,116 is directly credited to the bride's bank account via DBT.

1. My daughter belongs to BC-A community. Is she eligible for Kalyana Lakshmi?
Yes. BC-A (and all BC categories) are covered under Kalyana Lakshmi.
2. Can my father apply for the grant on my behalf?
The application must be in the bride's name with her Aadhaar — but parents/relatives can assist in filling the online form. The bank account and Aadhaar must be the bride's.
3. The grant was approved but money hasn't come 2 months after marriage. What do I do?
Check telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in with your Application ID. If status shows "Approved" but money not received, check if your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account. Contact your nearest Meeseva for follow-up.
4. My daughter had a civil marriage (registered). Does it count?
Yes. Both religious and civil/registered marriages are eligible. Submit the marriage registration certificate as proof.
5. I applied before marriage (14 days advance). When will I receive money?
After the marriage date, the MRO verifies the marriage took place. The grant is typically released within 30–45 days of marriage verification.
