What is MP Vriddha Pension Yojana?

Vriddha Pension Yojana (Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme integrated with state top-up) is the Madhya Pradesh government's old age pension scheme providing ₹600 per month to BPL elderly citizens aged 60 and above.

The ₹600 comprises:

  • Central share (IGNOAPS): ₹200 (60–79 years) or ₹500 (80+ years)
  • State share (MP government): ₹400 (60–79 years) or ₹100 (80+ years)
  • Total: ₹600/month for both age groups

Pension Amount

Age Central (IGNOAPS) State (MP) Total
60–79 years ₹200/month ₹400/month ₹600/month
80+ years ₹500/month ₹100/month ₹600/month

Note: The total comes to ₹600 in both age groups due to the blended state + central share. Some states and years may see revisions — verify current amounts at the portal.

Who is Eligible?

  • Age: 60 years or above
  • Residence: Permanent Madhya Pradesh resident
  • BPL (Below Poverty Line) as per state BPL list

Frequently Asked Questions

My father is 65 and BPL but has no Samagra ID. Can he still apply?

Yes — Samagra ID speeds up the process but is not mandatory. Apply with Aadhaar, BPL ration card, and bank passbook. The district office will verify.

My mother is 80 years old. Will she get more than ₹600?

The total is ₹600 for both age groups (the central share increases for 80+ but the state share decreases proportionally). Some years or revisions may change this — check the current rate on socialjustice.mp.gov.in.

My father receives NPS (National Pension System) from his employer. Is he still eligible?

If he is receiving a monthly NPS pension, he may not be eligible (government pension disqualification). If he received a lump-sum NPS withdrawal but no monthly pension, he may still qualify. Consult the district Social Justice office.

Can my father apply if he doesn't know how to use a computer?

Yes — apply offline at the Gram Panchayat or CSC (Jan Seva Kendra). Alternatively, you can apply on his behalf online if you have his Aadhaar and bank details.

The pension is not coming for the last 2 months. What do I do?

Check status on the portal. Common reasons: Aadhaar-bank seeding failure, account inactive, or verification pending. Visit the bank to re-activate and re-link Aadhaar, then inform the district Social Justice office.
