Frequently Asked Questions

1. My mother is 61 and lives alone in Hyderabad. She has no income. How does she apply?

She should go to the Ward Office (in Hyderabad, the GHMC ward office) with her Aadhaar and other documents. The ward officer will help with the Aasara Pension application.

2. My father receives ₹1,000/month from IGNOAPS. Will he get Aasara Pension on top?

Generally, Telangana integrates IGNOAPS with Aasara and the total comes to ₹2,016/month (Central + State together). He may already be receiving this combined pension. Check the pension portal.

3. My wife is 35 and a widow. Is she eligible?

Yes. Widow/abandoned women are eligible from age 18. Being 35 and widowed, she qualifies for ₹2,016/month.

4. I applied but my name is not on the pensioners list. What to do?

Visit your Gram Panchayat Sachiv or Ward Development Secretary. They maintain the local pensioners list. If your application was processed but not included, escalate to the MPDO office.

5. The pension stopped for 2 months. Why?

Common reasons: biometric/Aadhaar verification not done, DBT failure, or periodic reverification. Visit the Ward/Panchayat office to check and rectify.
