What is UP Free Laptop/Tablet Yojana?
The Uttar Pradesh government launched the Free Laptop and Tablet Distribution Scheme (also known as DigiShakti or UP Free Laptop/Tablet Yojana) to promote digital literacy among students and youth. Under this scheme, the UP government distributes free tablets and smartphones to students who have passed their graduation, post-graduation, diploma, or equivalent courses from UP-recognized institutions.
The scheme was initially announced by CM Yogi Adityanath with a budget of ₹3,000 crore to distribute devices to over 1 crore youth across the state. The devices come pre-loaded with educational content and government service apps.
Who is Eligible?
- Education: Must have passed Class 12, graduation, post-graduation, diploma, ITI, or equivalent from a UP-recognized institution
- Domicile: Must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh
- Age: No strict age limit, but must be a current student or recent graduate
- Income: Annual family income should not exceed ₹2 lakh (priority given to economically weaker sections)
- Institution: Must be enrolled in or recently passed from a DIOS/AICTE/UGC recognized institution in UP

How to Apply / Register — Step-by-Step
Online Registration
