Frequently Asked Questions

I applied 4 months ago but no payment has come. Why?

First, check your application status at sspy-up.gov.in. If "Approved," ensure your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account. If still pending, visit your Block Samaj Kalyan office (Social Welfare office).

My income certificate shows ₹2.5 lakh. Am I eligible?

No — the income limit is below ₹2 lakh per year. If your actual income is below ₹2L, request a fresh income certificate from the Tehsildar.

I am 62 years old and a widow. Which pension should I apply for?

Women 60+ can apply for Vridha Pension (Old Age Pension) at ₹500/month — the same amount. You can apply for Vridha Pension instead of Vidhwa Pension at sspy-up.gov.in.

Can I get both Vidhwa Pension and PMJDY or PMKISAN benefits?

Yes — widow pension and PMJDY (Jan Dhan banking) or PMKISAN (if you are a farmer) are completely separate schemes with no conflict.

My husband died recently (1 month ago). Can I apply now?

Yes — you can apply as soon as you have the death certificate of your husband. There is no waiting period after the husband's death.

What if I remarry? Does pension stop?

Yes — if you remarry, you are no longer a widow and are not eligible for widow pension. The pension stops.
